How to give flowers?
When giving flowers during a visit, first undress. Never give flowers on the doorstep or in the hallway, wait until you go into the hall. If this is not possible, because women’s hands are already reaching for the flowers, we, of course, do not hide them, but stop undressing for a moment and move on to greeting. We always give flowers unpacked, without protective paper, whisks up. When presenting flowers, hold them in your left hand so that your right hand is free to greet. When passing the bouquet, you must place the flowers in your right hand.
As a rule, flowers are given by a man to a woman
Therefore, if we visit a familiar couple, the man gives flowers to the mistress of the house. An exception is the situation in which the owner of the house is, for example, a birthday person – then he usually accepts flowers with wishes. Flowers can also be given by a woman to a woman, a woman to a man, or a man to a man – in the latter case, however, you should be careful and limit yourself to more formal situations.
There should be an odd number of flowers in a bouquet – according to popular belief, even numbers are a nuisance, in fact, it’s all about aesthetic considerations – in a small bouquet, three flowers look better than four. However, an even number of flowers are given for anniversaries. This is possible when the bouquet is extremely beautiful and consists, for example, of 50 or 100 roses. You can give an ameste bouquet with a vase. During an important celebration, the vases at home quickly run out, so each new one is worth its weight in gold.
